Husqvarna 550 xpg hood latch

My newish lightly used 550xpg mk2 has a broken hood latch . Cheaply made as they look i expect ķbetter keep extra on hand. Dealer isn't close by.
So are the cheap ones on ebay any good or how much should I expect to pay at the dealership.

Sell them on amazon for 5 for $8.50ish They may not be OEM but they are cheap and you can store one of 2 inside the saw cover back by the filter.

I have already broke 2 of them on my first version 550xp. Both in the dead of winter. Traverse Creek, Sawsalvage sells new oem for $10.85 each and that’s what you would probably expect from a dealer.

It might be more of a Husqvarna thing than just a 550, I have worked on several where it didn't take much to snap one, even just trying to get it out to clean around it.

I can't believe it's been 37 minutes and no one has a crude come-back to this.

I spent an entire winter once cutting all my firewood with a Poulan 2100 and a 16" bar, so I'm not qualified to refute anything.

I don’t hear a lot of bloviating about 346 quality, although from my experience they’re good quality saws, with fewer foibles than an 026. (BTW foible has an interesting etymology https://www.dictionary.com/browse/foible)
