So a buddy gave me his saw to take a look at said it wont start .
I told him I'll do a carb kit and all new lines and seals.
New fuel lines, filter, new crank seals and cylinder base seals and carb kit .
Got everything back together and saw wouldn't start ..very week spark so I changed the ignition with a OEM coil and saw started but would bog rite out ...adjusted the carb a hundred times and no difference.
Picked up a cheap chicom carb and now the saw starts and runs great but can't get the idle to come down.
Pressure and vac are good and compression is at 125 and the p/c look good .
In the meantime I took the OEM carb apart again and gave it good cleaning again and tried it with that again .
Saw starts and idles but bogs rite out when I hit the throttle no matter how much I adjust it .
I think if this were my saw it would have meet my concrete garage floor already .
Any ideas what else to check ?
I wanna stick with the OEM carb but can't get it to run rite for nothing with it .

Thanks
Ernie

The two aftermarket carbs I've had idled high. One on a saw ran very well. One on a brush cutter wouldn't let it run beyond half speed.
Both were nonadjustable.

There irritating to tune. Initial settings are L 2 1/2 turns out and H is 2 turns out. If you need to make it richer or leaner try tweaking both screws a tiny bit in the same direction at the same time. Don't try to adjust the High or low just by itself. Also when tuned to factory spec, the one I had did not rev up cold. I would start it and let it idle for a couple of minutes before it decided it was ready for work. Then it was ok.
