Today I Rummaged around some spare cylinders, found and old farmertec 038 mag. Checked the 038, it has a 34mm stroke, round intake boot area and a compatible muffler arrangement with a 357xp... cylinder case bolt pattern I think is doable. Will require some drilling for the impulse up and through the lower intake throat. Not sure how the transfer matching would be, but from a quick look this looks like a daft experiment.
My 357xp works a treat but I do not need it for a couple of weeks. Tempted to take the top end and see whether this would even work. I know 268's have been thrown on the 357xp but this Stihl route seems plausible and the torque figures would be insane. Plus cross pollinating the brands seems a joke. I Haven't thought about the carb and crank stuffers etc. But I really want to see if the basics can work with this.
A ported 038 Mag on a light weight husqvarna.. tell me people am I being a fool? If it didn't work I would just put the 357 top end back on. Or if it did work I would probs buy a blown 357 to launch this combo on for the 038 win.
