Nice thread, man.
I built up a 261/262 last summer. I put a couple tanks through it today... not bad. The seal carrier, o-rings, and worm gear on this series are a bit odd for a Stihl guy, but they work.

Finally cut with it. It feels good, Gonna poke a larger hole in the muffler and make a thinner base gasket. As of right now, squish is at .029”. I lika how this saw has turned out.

Hey man! Things are ok considering everything lol. I put some time on an 036 build along with the 261/2 today. No snow on the ground which is so weird for us. I’ll take it, though.

I dislike the clutch spring replacement procedure on this series as well. I’m impressed with the 254/261/262 as a whole, though.
