So, am disassembling a later 55Rancher and can’t get the damn AV rubbers out to separate the case from the tank. Is there some sort of trick? Tired of scratching paint and bending screwdrivers.

Dumb answer time. Do you have the two screw plastic caps pulled on the rear of the saw and the isolator plugs pulled from behind them?

Yes, If I remember correctly 4 of one. Size and two smallers. You can get different durometers though.

Yes, I've found that needle nose pliers or channel-locks work well. Grab onto the lip and wiggle the rear handle to get them started.

I mights have some at home I can maybe post later. Definite 51,55 series. The rear two are covered by a square plastic two screw cove that is NLA it has a plastic locator pin in the middle.

Here is a picture of the plugs I got off the bay. It also shows the cover. I maybe wrong on the extra two and definitetly could be thinking the 272,625,620,670 chassis. Thx for clearing this up @ Agrarian. Much appreciated.

Nope, all rubber. This is a later model 55. Perhaps the early ones have what you describe?

This is the easiest saw to work on. Mounts are just pushed in. All for same size.

Getting them in is easy, out, not so much, especially not knowing their construction :p

Now, to make the removal tool for the worm gear 😁
