Husky 288xp piston ?????

Piston on left came out of high hour 288 and has what appears to be a KS marking inside. Piston on the right is a new Mahle supposed to be 288. Question is why the big difference in the windows. Any and all opinions appreciated.

I've never seen a 288 in Norway, but, you find windows difference between KS and Mahle when we speak about 254 and also on 262.
242 used mostly Mahle, but there is 3 different pistons there, all made by Mahle, the real hot rod there is the piston they used from 91 and for some years.

What's the weight difference? Is that a stock husky circlip ?

Also with all the saws in your sig why do you have a 288 piston ?

Didn't check weight. Yes stock Husky circlip. It was slated for a 660 build. This 288 and a 262xp came to me for repair.

Window size can help or hurt depending on how big you go with the lowers and uppers. I'd take the lighter one of the 2 if the KS was good to use.

I see its junk. I wonder how much weight difference there is in between them

They feel the same to me. Lol. Scale is at the shop. I might get around to checking but the KS was well worn.
