With the topend wet with oil from assembling the saw it felt like it had a ton of compression. I didn't do a compression test because at this point the reading would be BS. I heat cycled the saw a couple times and took it out for a bit of run time.

I was pleased with how easily the saw tuned/idled and ran but I felt something was missing. It just didn't quite have the feeling I was after.
I did a compression test and was surprised with the results. I got a reading of only 165 lbs.
when I first did all my squish measurements and checking the saw had a really tight stock squish. From the research I had done I figured that the AM cases must of had a lower deck height then oem so I was being extra cautious and didn't lower the cylinder as much as I otherwise would of.

I made the decision that it needed more compression as well as a little more ignition advance. I didn't get any pictures of the rework but I cut another .020" from the cylinder base and squish band. I also filed another .010" from the flywheel key.
I rechecked my port timing knowing that it wasn't gonna what I had originally wanted. Originally I had the cylinder ported at 102/121/78. The port timing now was at 105/122.5/80.
I decided to leave the intake timing where it was at and raise the exhaust and transfers back up.
New port timing is 102/120/80.

With the saw all back together I took it out for another test drive. This time I was quite impressed. It still tuned and idled really well but it had a different attitude. The throttle response is great and it makes great torque. It will tune wot to 14200-14500 and it holds approximately 10300 in the cut with a 24" bar, 7 pin and 3/8 full comp buried.
In this video I have the saw tuned a touch fat at 13800 for break in.

So to summarize what I did with the cylinder was I cut a total of .035 from the base and .040 from the squish band and sanded it for final squish clearance of .020. The finished port timing ended at 102/120/80.
Final ignition advance was approximately 6* with a total of .030 from the FW key

I will do a proper review of Mike's work and my experience with getting my first ported saw some time in the near future, but I will say right up front that the whole process of getting a saw ported by Mike has been 1st class all the way. I couldn't be happier.
