ive got one rebuilt 8 months ago and got to run ok with an AM kit
Saw came back to me and doesn’t come close to passing pop off
Going to rebuild it again with oem. But I think the needle valve seat is worn. I have a hard time getting it to hold pressure with my finger on the back of the needle.
I’ll let you know after after oem kit

Try toothpaste or valve grinding compound and a qtip on the needle seat to polish/lap it. I bet the aftermarket needle is junk though.

Is something you do when you clean a carb? Or have done in the past with the same issue?

If it leaks at the needle I usually give it a shot. The popoff could be too low too, that’s another thing to consider.

made sure the lever was set per the Big W. Air just blows by on test. Wondered about the spring (also wonder why those aren’t in a Kit) but even when I lean on the back of the needle way more than the spring and lever would ever do, it leaks.
I’ll lapp it with Colgate and see how that goes

is it new? how much? pm me....

Three carbs available for the 262.

HDA-87, 120, and 144

I’ve seen the 87’s on saws from 1990-1992. They have the largest Venturi and are more performance oriented. This is the carb you want with port work.

The 120’s follow after that and then 144’s are on the later/last model saws and have limiters on them.

Hope this helps?
