Having a problem with my 257 saw. After running for a while and saw is all warmed up it at times just dies, no sputtering and hiccups, but dies clean. Not sure what may be the cause yet, but would like to know where to find the fuel tank vent, it is suppose to be the the rear handle, but not seeing it with the handle panels off. Anyone know where it is hidden? Any thoughts on why or what to look for the reason saw just cleanly dies?
Thanks for the help, I appreciate all the knowledge here on this site.

Have you tried turning the low screw? Thinking maybe it's just loading up a bit slight adjustment might help.

It's in front of the handle at the top of the tank on the clutch side. You will need to remove the screws in the AV and lower tank to access, as it's behind the metal section thereof.

I had the same problem but I don’t remember what model Husky it was.

Vent is buried where major disassembly is required.[emoji90]

I even tried to force feed solvent thru the vent to clear it. Shop air at 20 psi.

Made my own vent by drilling a hole for a duckbill valve. Study the back side of the wrap handle to locate it under a cavity.

Glued the duckbill in with 3M weatherstrip glue and packed the cavity with cotton ball as filter material.

Worked perfect.

I just remembered:

Drill a tiny hole in the wrap handle to the cavity over the duckbill.

I plan on using the duckbill fix on a few more that have a “WTF were they thinking?” tank vent systems.

A Stihl MS361 for instance.
