Thinking of you guys in the path of Dorian, I hope and pray that you stay safe! Kind regards from Wales UK.

Hugo raised hell coming up through the NC coastal areas back when I was at MCAS Cherry Point. Tore Cherry Point, New Bern, many other surrounding areas a new ass. Lots and lots of cleanup from that one...it was a damn mess!
I hope your friend gets to safe ground. It’s stalled now, just wearing the Bahamas out.Jason, was just told that there is only one way out of Charleston now. ( Ralph must leave! ) The road is only one way.
Good deal!Savannah is getting wet but the wind is not very strong , 20mph with a few gusts at 40mph.
South Carolina coast seems to be catching the NE winds/rain protecting us a little bit.
I still have power here . I am less than 1 mile from the intercoastal waterway and the barrier islands so i feel lucky so far.
It is going to get worse in the next few hours but it looks like we are going to be alright.
The newest report looks like the eye has moved to the east and north.

180,000 out of power in SC from SCEG reports!
I'm in the upstate but I'm from Charleston and parents still live there.

There fine. I know my mom is out of power, not sure about dad. He lives right on the Ashley river, but his house is way up so there would literally have to be like 10 ft of surge way up the river to even get the first living floor wetHope the parents are doing ok.
Wind is still gusting around 20mph but no rain now.
Nothing flooded and no downed trees that i can see just walking around.
I do have a water oak with a crack in the very top that is right by the house.
Tree is the tallest one around, about 80'.
It is going to be tricky to get this one down, nothing to tie off to.
Once down we have 2 acres right out the back fence where we can cut, split , stack and sell the firewood and a nice burn pile.
Get this tree taken care of and all is good.
at the house.
Now to go check out work.
