Just finished boarding up the house here in GA. Parked the cars in protected elevated lots downtown.
Kept the truck with me.

tanks of gas, and diesel are filled. Exterior furniture is in. Water cans filled.

the one neighbor with a pool is already talking about a pool party Bbq after this mess is over. Ha.

the city seems empty. Home Depot wasn’t that crazy at 6am.

all roads into Savannah are blocked, evac is in full affect.

haven’t decided if we’re evacuating yet. The inner Florida Man in me says hell no, and the Georgian in me say,

Hugo raised hell coming up through the NC coastal areas back when I was at MCAS Cherry Point. Tore Cherry Point, New Bern, many other surrounding areas a new ass. Lots and lots of cleanup from that one...it was a damn mess!

Jason, was just told that there is only one way out of Charleston now. ( Ralph must leave! ) The road is only one way.

Don't think much will be left of that place after being hammered for a few days.

Savannah is getting wet but the wind is not very strong , 20mph with a few gusts at 40mph.
South Carolina coast seems to be catching the NE winds/rain protecting us a little bit.
I still have power here . I am less than 1 mile from the intercoastal waterway and the barrier islands so i feel lucky so far.
It is going to get worse in the next few hours but it looks like we are going to be alright.

The newest report looks like the eye has moved to the east and north.

Yup. I’m still in downtown; haven’t moved into the coffee bluff place yet. Everything is clear here, zero wind to report and a soft rain right now.

still glad I over prepared though.

Reports of a few downed trees in Windsor forest and on the east side for coworkers.

hope the tide stays away from you all out there.

Wind is still gusting around 20mph but no rain now.
Nothing flooded and no downed trees that i can see just walking around.

I do have a water oak with a crack in the very top that is right by the house.
Tree is the tallest one around, about 80'.
It is going to be tricky to get this one down, nothing to tie off to.
Once down we have 2 acres right out the back fence where we can cut, split , stack and sell the firewood and a nice burn pile.

Get this tree taken care of and all is good.
at the house.
Now to go check out work.

180,000 out of power in SC from SCEG reports!

I'm in the upstate but I'm from Charleston and parents still live there.

There fine. I know my mom is out of power, not sure about dad. He lives right on the Ashley river, but his house is way up so there would literally have to be like 10 ft of surge way up the river to even get the first living floor wet

Let me know if you need a hand.

I just checked the property and everything was fine, tractor stayed safe.

the new place has a monster oak out front and just one tiny twig broke off. We got very lucky, wish our luck extends to everyone else up north.
