Thanks! They’re 1mm carbon panels glued with JB Weld to each side. The void between the panels is also filled with JB Weld.
If you could machine them 100% accurately you could use thicker carbon and save some more weight. Unfortunately I don’t have access to anyone with a mill anymore, so I won’t be able to do this again and see what the results may be.
Most of these bars are just about 5mm thick, so if you left a 1mm rim in the middle, you could use 1.5-2mm carbon. Of the 8oz added after the cutouts were made, the JB Weld added the most of it. Less JB Weld and more carbon equals lighter.
Edit: I should have mentioned that I left more meat between the two cutouts compared to last time. I guess I could have saved a little more weight by not doing that, but I figured the longer bar could use a little extra help.
No led LED lights in between. That’s all Wayne
