srcarr52 was making these a while back. I don't remember the specs, but they were pretty nice.

Every mill has a +/- tolerance
I worked for an AISC certified fab shop & steel service center for 14yrs.

0.095" is minimum to be considered 12ga.
.105" is max

Yeah, that's why I said it varies. We use a lot of plate at work. Most of it bigger then 12, but I don't remember any 12 being smaller then a tenth, because 12 is supposed to be 7/64. Could just be the two suppliers we get it from.

I think I have heard someone made some out of Domex??

Not sure if that is correct??

I like decent to over sized dawgs for felling, keeps the saw in place better.

Old oak, ash and walnut can get some pretty thick bark on the bigger 32" + diameter trees.

What does a deeper dog do that a smaller dog wont do? I get it in heavy soft bark or punky wood. But in my mind it only shortens the bars length of cut. I will admit they look cool. I have never built any but if I did it would be a happy medium, so you cant damage the case of the saw and still keep as much bar length cut.
Who here has ever slipped off a exhaust/bar bolt stud and stuck themselves into a nasty gunk covered dog? Bleeds for a while doesn't it. Thank goodness for shop rags and electrical tape. AKA band aid.

I position my scrench at 9-10 o'clock position to loosen bar nuts, so if slippage occurs, I'm clear of the spikes.

X 2 on electrical tape and paper towel band aid!!!

Real nice spikes. You got any pics of them on a saw? They look good.
What metal did you use?

Still looking for a pair for my 261. Stock-meh, 361 kit fits nicely but they rounded off the bottom to much and just slides along not grabbing the wood, Plitz fit but were way overbuilt for my needs and the bottom spikes stuck out about 500'

I just put the stock one back on for now. I did get lucky with my Husky's though. The OEM Heavy Duty Set had everything and was really cheap.

Gang saw blade teeth, no chance to bend them during regular use and occasional abuse.
Damn hard steel those blades, I even made a couple knifes out of them.
