My dad saw some Chinese at the GIE-expo with cameras taking closeup pictures of Honda engines from every angle.

Just like they’re already cloning current saws from echo like the 2511, got to be just as good right. 139$ and all the parts fit now some people on YouTube would tell you this and the echo are both made in china at the same place but they just avoid that middle man called echo.

Doesn't stihl and husky make a lot of their parts in china nowadays? I imagine these global corporations have a cost/benefit analysis on "if we have china make our parts, they'll likely manufacture knockoffs as well, but we've calculated that into our profit margin for moving manufacturing to a country that has no worker protections"

Stihl has their own facility in Qindao, China. They've had the facility there since the early 90's. They also have a facility in Huizhou and one in Hong Kong.

Yes they do but my only point was they build their own stuff there it’s not the same parts as the clone saws like some YouTube people claim. We even get our cheapest weed trimmer and hedge trimmer from China in the states. Fs 38

I know they even went to a China cylinder assembly for awhile but think they quit because of warranty issues. Scott just put out a video of a new husky 372 cylinder he bought for a rebuild and it was a gilerdoni cylinder kit. All the small used to be poulan saw will be made in china or Brazil now though and who know maybe a lot of the pro saws will be Brazil vs sweeden.

Actually, I think they do make a fair amount of good stuff, but they keep it for themselves. We definitely get a lot of their junk. Hey, what does it matter if their ships are a little inferior to U.S. Navy, if they can replace them 200x faster?

I agree, Honda had a lot of certain engine lines build in China, Stihl equipment that is actually their built stuff in its factory is good. One guy tried to tell me it makes no difference who’s name is on the building because all Chinese stuff is equal.
