Received a used ms250 chainsaw, it is missing a side cover and a clutch. Can anyone tell me what pieces I need to get the saw up and running again?

Thanks, do you recommend a certain type of clutch drum?

Drum will dictate the pitch chain you can use. Most common on an 025/MS250 is .325 chain. I personally prefer a 3/8 Lo Pro or "Picco" chain setup off of an 021/MS210. I find that size chain matches the saws power much better.

You don't need everything that's shown in the Illustrated Parts List that atpchas posted . . . just parts 1 thru 6 and just one sprocket. I agree with Jimmy in NC that 3/8 Pico is the way to go . . . and part #1123 007 1001 will give you everything you need for that . . . will also save you money in the future, since you'll only need to replace the rim sprocket (instead of the whole drum) when it wears out.

As TX stated the Spline drive setup is ideal. That and open the muffler up a little and they become a nice little beater saw.

+1 on the picco setup for this saw, it makes a noticeable difference.

Did someone run this saw with the brake on?
