Guys, seeing much damage from Helene? Lot's of wind here in the area, but nothing too bad as of yet (that I can see).

We have got alot of rain.the wind got here this morning waiting on trees to start blowing down now.

The power company was here yesterday to talk to me about the full line replacement they are going to do on our road. It is postponed again because they are sending crews to hurricane areas.

In my county one bridge over the river washed out today and 3 more is under water.there was 2 left open at 8 tonight.then on my way home at 8:30 they closed one of them.it usually takes me 15 minutes from town to my house,took me 1 1/2 hours tonight.

Where are you at? I’m in east TN as well, but not the upper. Our agency was working on the rescues yesterday and I had issues to deal with here on my area of operation. Looks like I may be headed that way today.

Guy in my class out in Vegas lives in Georgia. His wife and kids had to leave because of trees down, flooding and no power .

Where I am at we do not have to deal with hurricanes but sure as hell do with tornadoes and derecho's. There is no doubt hurricanes affect a much larger area than a tornado but one good thing (I use that term loosely), is that with a hurricane you generally have a lot of warning. With a tornado you have maybe minutes and sometimes not even that.

This afternoon we sent a load of about 10 generators and a few chainsaws down, along with some gas and diesel, water, and snacks. It sounds like there is a crazy amount of tree damage.

Most of the damage was along the river. I'm 5 miles from it.i got my power back on at 12:30 today,so I'm doing better than a lot of people.the water for people with no Wells ran out today.supposed to be a bunch of neighbors here this evening filling up water jugs.

I saw footage from Asheville. Kathy and i were there last September. Tickets booths to get into the Biltmore Estate completely underwater. Crazy rainfall totals.

Of course we rarely have physical effects from hurricanes but generally when they hit the lumberyards jack up the price of OSB here. A number of years ago we went from $5 a sheet to $15. I have been watching it daily and it is still holding steady.

I don't know if this is what you heard about or not,but about 7 miles below me a man was trapped on his house roof and a man and his girlfriend or wife and a dog took a boat out to try to save him.the boat capsized,a woman and her family my wife works with heard a woman screaming.they went down to the river and seen her in a tree.the woman's uncle tied a rope around his self and went in after her,they said it took him an hour of trying before he got to her but they saved her.the next day they found the boat and the dog but haven't found him yet.some other rescuers got the man off his house roof alive.

They found the man that was in the boat with his woman and dog.he was about 5 miles down stream from where the boat capsized.

I kept hoping he would be found somewhere alive but I had my doubts.
