Since this seems to be the most active oil thread, here's a question for the resident experts.

About 10 or 12 years ago, I bought a case of Mobil 1 Racing 2T oil because Auto Zone was stopping stocking it and they marked it WAAAAY down.

Anyway, I don't have a lot of air-cooled 2T equipment outside my MS361 and weedeater, so I've still got four or six quarts of that old Mobil 1 ... do you all think I'm OK running it?

I was going to maybe use a 50-50 mix of the old Mobil 1 Racing 2T and Motul 800 at 40-to-1 to use in my MS 361, AM 660 and weedeater. Supposedly the Mobil 1 is beyond its shelf life but it looks and feels and smells fine to me...

How much is a new quart of oil? Now... how much is a new piston and cylinder? If mobil says it’s expired I’d tend to believe that.

I honestly dont believe tgat the oil would ever go bad in sealed quarts. If the bottle was opened then maybe. Run it and dobt question its ability to protect. Mobil even expired is probably way better then msby other oils out there.

I'd run it. But I wouldn't mix different oils together .

I use miscellaneous oils that I find laying around as a fuel additive for my four strokes, one ounce per gallon. I figger it adds some badly needed lubrication to the valve stems and seats and certainly isn't going to hurt anything.

Oil, especially synthetic oil, does not expire as far as I'm to understand.

Maybe seeing that Motul 800t doesn't combust is cause for the lack of carbon on piston top? Gas combusts, oil lubes. They both have their own jobs.
Simple, right? Lol
Ding, ding. And were off......
It’s not terrible, might not actually be that bad to mix it with another oil that combusts

IMO some impede combustion more than others
