That was a very prolific model sold by Deere and had a Kawasaki engine. Have you ever tried buying engine parts for one from Kawasaki If so you found out that the engine was built by Kawasaki but is proprietary to Deere and a Kawasaki engine dealer has no access to parts. I am betting if you tear into a Deere compact tractor you will find a Yanmar dealer will not be able to get you many of the parts you need
