Harley riders aren't all some variety of alphabet people?
Sure look like it.
Sure look like it.
That is par for the course in business today. I have had this discussion with folks in the past and still have yet to find anyone who can come up with a manufactured product that is truly 100% American.Thailand is now home to some production.

It is funny you say that. I am telling you, the good Lord as my witness, when I saw this post this morning I was sitting in the waiting room of my proctologist. That is no chit!.....Those of us who still don't have our heads up our asses all need to ignore it.
Of course most folks are familiar with Deere. I swear some bleed green blood instead of of red and instead of tightly whities they wear greenies. I am 35 miles down river from the Deere mecca of Moline Illinois, the world headquarters, commonly known here as the "glass palace". I am not sure how many years ago, I am guessing maybe 12, there was a lot of scuttle butt about them wanting to move the world headquarters to China due to that was their "emerging market". Of course that pissed off a bunch. The CEO at the time (not sure if he is still there) said never while he was the CEO. How many wanna bet how long it takes?
I knew that, did not put a time frame on it. Many pieces of machinery have unique parts, except John Deere and Yanmar compact tractors.Hate to tell you but Deere has had proprietary parts for at least 40 years.
I have never owned a Harley and doubt I ever will. I am not into motorcycles but cannot survive with an ATV. I believe hands down Honda is teh best there is there or at least was the best.I'm not into motorcycles, but if I was it would be Honda or Yamaha all the way.

Yanmar produces smaller JD tractors.I am not sure what you mean there.
Yes, and what makes you think parts are not proprietary to Deere? Take for example the Deere 317 lawn tractor. It had a 17hp Kohler engine that Deere bought from Kohler. What folks did not know is Deere made Kohler alter essential parts making them proprietary to only Deere. I believe a main one was the crankshaft. Now flip forward to the 425 model. That was a very prolific model sold by Deere and had a Kawasaki engine. Have you ever tried buying engine parts for one from Kawasaki If so you found out that the engine was built by Kawasaki but is proprietary to Deere and a Kawasaki engine dealer has no access to parts. I am betting if you tear into a Deere compact tractor you will find a Yanmar dealer will not be able to get you many of the parts you needYanmar produces smaller JD tractors.
I own a 425 Deere lawn tractor. I have worked for Deere, and also worked for 11 years at a Small engine shop that was a Kawasaki dealer. You are correct that you can’t look up the engine parts from the 425 in Kawasaki’s fiche by the engine’s model number, however, it’s in the same family as other Kawasaki engines. I performed an entire engine rebuild on mine a few years back, and ordered all of the parts from Kawasaki.Yes, and what makes you think parts are not proprietary to Deere? Deere just had Kawasaki put a specific model number on the engines produced for Deere models, and had Kawasaki leave those models out of their lookups. Same with Briggs & Stratton. I have found all my small engine parts for John Deere machines at small engines shops. These engine manufacturers did not go through all the trouble of changing parts for 1 brand. They simply leave the “different” model number off their books. It’s really quite easy to get parts for Kawasaki and Briggs powered John Deere’s - you just need to do a little research.
Yes I have worked on the 317.You ever work on a 317?
On the subject of Kawasaki how about a 2008 3010 Mule model KAF950D serial JK1AFDD148B500010.
That is a Kawasaki side by side with a 3 cylinder diesel.
