Thailand is now home to some production.
That is par for the course in business today. I have had this discussion with folks in the past and still have yet to find anyone who can come up with a manufactured product that is truly 100% American.

Allegiance flags.
All of our materials are sourced in America and made by American workers. It’s extremely important to us that 100% of our flag is sourced and sewn in the USA. It’s not the easy way, but it’s the right way. We’re proud to be American-made from beginning to end!

  • 100% sourced in the USA
  • Sewn in Charleston, SC

.....Those of us who still don't have our heads up our asses all need to ignore it.
It is funny you say that. I am telling you, the good Lord as my witness, when I saw this post this morning I was sitting in the waiting room of my proctologist. That is no chit!

Of course most folks are familiar with Deere. I swear some bleed green blood instead of of red and instead of tightly whities they wear greenies. I am 35 miles down river from the Deere mecca of Moline Illinois, the world headquarters, commonly known here as the "glass palace". I am not sure how many years ago, I am guessing maybe 12, there was a lot of scuttle butt about them wanting to move the world headquarters to China due to that was their "emerging market". Of course that pissed off a bunch. The CEO at the time (not sure if he is still there) said never while he was the CEO. How many wanna bet how long it takes?🤔

John Deere already turned many farmers away from them, with all their proprietary parts and computer crap. Just like Cat has done.

Hate to tell you but Deere has had proprietary parts for at least 40 years.

dosen't really matter what color or name all have those "special parts" truck trailer tractor ,list goes on forever. Eventually you have to resort to to new old stock or used. Big complaint was the computer stuff, but Deere wasn't alone in that. What really took the cake was the statement by many of you do not own the programming. For what everything costs now days that is pasture patties.

I knew that, did not put a time frame on it. Many pieces of machinery have unique parts, except John Deere and Yanmar compact tractors.

I'm not into motorcycles, but if I was it would be Honda or Yamaha all the way.
I have never owned a Harley and doubt I ever will. I am not into motorcycles but cannot survive with an ATV. I believe hands down Honda is teh best there is there or at least was the best.
1978 Bought a new Yamaha 80 enduro bike...still have
1981 Went to the Yamaha dealer to buy a new "Tri-Moto" 125 three wheeler but did not like it
1981 Bought a new Honda 110 three wheeler
1982 Bought a new Honda "Big Red" 200 three wheeler. That was a full work machine
1984 My brother bought a new 200X three wheeler to race
1985 Bought a new Honda 250 4 trax 4 wheeler for farming. I still have it
1988 My brother bought a used 1985 Honda 250R 3 wheeler that was a full race machine. That thing was too damn fast.
1989 Bought a used 1986 Polaris Scrambler 250 three wheeler. Most have never seen a Polaris three wheeler and few exist.
Then there was a break in buying.
1999 Dad was getting older and wanted a 4 wheel drive 4 wheeler so he bought a new Honda Foreman 4x4
2000 Bought this farm. The widow had a barely used 1991 Suzuki LT250 4x4 four wheeler so that came with it
2003 Bought another used Suzuki LT250 4x4 four wheeler. POS
2005 Bought a used Polaris 250 Scrambler 4 wheeler POS
2007 Bought another used Polaris Scrambler 250 4 wheeler POS
2008 Bought a used 2006 Honda Foreman 450. That was a brute. I loved that machine.
2008 Dad wanted a side by side so he bought a Kawasaki Mule diesel. I have that now
2012 Dad could no longer walk from the house to the shop so he bought a new Honda Rancher to drive up and down the handicap ramp. I have that machine now.

In all I rate Honda as the best but I will say this 2012 Rancher is far from my favorite. The 1999 and 2006 Foreman's are much better. Hell the 1985 Four Trax 250 got beat to death and still was kicking.

I am not sure what you mean there.

Yanmar produces smaller JD tractors.
Yes, and what makes you think parts are not proprietary to Deere? Take for example the Deere 317 lawn tractor. It had a 17hp Kohler engine that Deere bought from Kohler. What folks did not know is Deere made Kohler alter essential parts making them proprietary to only Deere. I believe a main one was the crankshaft. Now flip forward to the 425 model. That was a very prolific model sold by Deere and had a Kawasaki engine. Have you ever tried buying engine parts for one from Kawasaki If so you found out that the engine was built by Kawasaki but is proprietary to Deere and a Kawasaki engine dealer has no access to parts. I am betting if you tear into a Deere compact tractor you will find a Yanmar dealer will not be able to get you many of the parts you need

I own a 425 Deere lawn tractor. I have worked for Deere, and also worked for 11 years at a Small engine shop that was a Kawasaki dealer. You are correct that you can’t look up the engine parts from the 425 in Kawasaki’s fiche by the engine’s model number, however, it’s in the same family as other Kawasaki engines. I performed an entire engine rebuild on mine a few years back, and ordered all of the parts from Kawasaki.

Deere just had Kawasaki put a specific model number on the engines produced for Deere models, and had Kawasaki leave those models out of their lookups. Same with Briggs & Stratton. I have found all my small engine parts for John Deere machines at small engines shops. These engine manufacturers did not go through all the trouble of changing parts for 1 brand. They simply leave the “different” model number off their books. It’s really quite easy to get parts for Kawasaki and Briggs powered John Deere’s - you just need to do a little research.

You ever work on a 317?

On the subject of Kawasaki how about a 2008 3010 Mule model KAF950D serial JK1AFDD148B500010.

That is a Kawasaki side by side with a 3 cylinder diesel.

Yes I have worked on the 317.

Kawasaki Powersports and Kawasaki Small Engines are 2 different types of dealership.
