Barko 160

Almost new GX 160 Honda surges at full throttle. Has done it since new. Carb is clean, fuel drained last winter, fresh non ethanol this year. idle and mid range are fine. Seems like the governor. Any suggestions?

Sounds like it could be a governor spring problem. I believe that if you put a second spring on it your surge will quit.

You will be another hole you can put the spring into that is at a slightly further point. You may need to take the slack out of the governor. Loosen 10mm nut on governor arm, using pliers twist pin to right (it has a flat spot on it for this reason) and retighten nut. Pliers & 10mm socket with small extension is all you should need.
