Yikes! Now I understand why you don’t want to go that route.
And I’m not saying people haven’t had good luck with Taurus and I know all companies can have issues but the way mine was handled didn’t inspire confidence in the repairs especially with a cartridge as big as .454 or 480 ruger/460 smith.

Yeah, that type of customer service makes me hope I don't have issues with any of mine.

Over on the Cast Boolits forum there are many stories about Taurus and Rossi service being bad. I have a Taurus 85 that is in for service right now. The barrel is twisted a bit to the right, causing groups to land to the left. The revolver actually shoots great otherwise. All they have to do is turn the barrel a little to the left and all should be good. I'm hoping they fix it properly and don't make the problem worse or say that it is within specs.

All my other Taurus and Rossi guns have been great, I wouldn't keep buying them otherwise. I have a really nice Taurus 856 on layaway right now in fact.

What is wrong with them to be marked down so much?
Many positive reviews on them but apparently the looks of that series never made it popular
Feels real blocky in hand and the trigger sucks imho
I never fired one but my local gunstore has a few never sold one of them they told me.
This is actually a redesign

Here's what they originally looked like I kinda prefer the original
I'm sure they're good quality being beretta
And they stand behind their products
But they missed the mark on this design.

Honestly If I was in the market for a inexpensive quality 9mm I'd just buy the arex delta m
Having owned and shot most common service pistols except the Walther PDP and Springfield echelon series
I prefer the ergonomics, trigger and accuracy of the arex
I was looking at the rost martin rm1c ported a us made version licensed using arex designs and the rm1s compact.
But I already have the arex.
