Picked up a witness elite match large frame 9mm. Its single action only. Trigger breaks at 3.5lbs.

A friend was interested in it
I wouldn't recommend this particular pistol to anyone
Honestly this example the only one they had
Had a trigger pull that was off the 10lb scale they had
Hopefully it's only this one the trigger is very rough and stagey before breaking finally after a very heavy trigger pull.
I had several other customers try it and they didn't like it at all either.
I told her to look at the M&P line and shield plus's
And the Taurus g3 and gx4 line's
She's going to try mine out to see if she likes them.

Well built otherwise just not fitted properly in the thumb safety and for that price point.

Grip screws are also not clocked properly. Terrible.

Ahhh the Lawsuit S&W series. I wonder what all they changed in the 2.0, from you mentioning 10lb trigger I can say they didn't change it's biggest complaint lol.

There must have been something wrong with that one. We have had several 2.0's come through the shop and the trigger on every one I've tried was really good.

I haven’t tried it on yotees yet but I really liking it for rats, rabbits & raccoons.

ATN X - Sight 4K 5x-20x its mounted on a Ruger American 17HMR right now while I figure out the functions & familiarize myselt with it.



The IR that comes with it is good out to about 125 - 150 yards on high but it is a battery eating SOB on high, best suited for 100yds or less. I would recommend a SniperHog Light to go with it, a 66 is what got today.

No need for me to see a mile or more.

I did the action job on the Arex tonight. It's not perfection, as I'd like a crisper break and I know it would require billet parts. But I also feel like 95% of people wouldn't notice and would treat it as amazing.

(It needs a oversized trigger, both in external and hole dimensions. The sear and hammer needs shaper edges that are more consistent. If I pushed it any further I know the MIM parts wouldn't hold up.)

Thankfully, the guy responsible for designing the Sig X5 series (High End Comp Models) has been hired by Arex since the sig shop Germany has shut down. Meaning within the next year or so we're probably going to see billet parts along with other mechanisms designed by him (The 4 way Germany triggers) for the arex line of pistols. (There are also AREX alpha "2.0" models he has been tinkering with and I've see the X5 style triggers in. So I can only pray for the billet parts.)

The reasoning behind this educated guess is because sig shop Germany didn't use MIM parts even at the end of SIG Germany, SIG USA used the designs at a midway point but utilized MIM parts in an interpretation after sig shop Germany shut down. (Sig shop Germany and sig shop USA are subcomponents of SIG. It's basically their "Custom shops". )

While I won't completely trash MIM, as it does have the protentional except for two things. Surface irregularities and overall material toughness.
So you can't take MIM to the bleeding edge, it will fail at a noticeably increased rate due to edge rolling, designs will either account for this or be given an expected lifespan.


You also cannot use sig parts in arex as it's a blend of a Walther P88 and the a P22X. Which I will say the Walther heritage of design, the deckocker style and half of the Fire control group lean more to the Walther, which I believe lead to it being a better single action trigger in it's basic form. But the double action is heavier yet way more consistent in it's pull. Which the DA inconsistency and reset is what has always disappointed me about the Sig hammer fired pistols (Not 210 that's a breed of it's own).

This was terrible compared to them.
It was funny though out of literally thousands of guns the 2 I looked at had issues

I've messed with some of the 2000+ colts for friends and I just can't see the price to quality just like I showed the old gold cup and I can upload photos of older colt basic model 1911 and the finish on the outside was way better. (For the screw clocking if you knew how they were threaded, there's threads on the frame, then collet, and then the screw itself. If you got them all to line up without shimming then you got a miracle)

Same goes for S&W and their revolvers. I have..... quite a collection of old S&W revolvers, to a point friends make fun of me.... I bought a S&W 500 Performance center, Never in my life would I have expected such a "high" priced revolver to be a disappointment. There was machine chatter on the outside, it was obviously visible, the trigger was dog *s-word by comparison to the STOCK old S&Ws I have, the front sight walked out of it's dove tail. After the front sight, I was just like I should have just bought a Magnum ordnance BFR for less than it and now I could have had the cylinder reamed for 500 bushwhacker (Think 500 S&W but LONG).

EDIT: I will add a caveat, If you are looking for a traditional yet NEW revolver, The NEW colt pythons and anaconda are well well above the S&Ws for quality and are a minor increased price. If you want a good new S&W you are looking at aftermarket parts in the FCG and either fitting yourself or having someone fit for you.

Or you can spend XXXXX for a KORTH which is German made S&W with extreme attention to detail. The same goes for a Manurhin which is a French made S&W on steroids. If I was set on spending a stupid amount of money it would be the French in this case.
The Manurhin MR-73 is the king of combat revolvers all because Gign, a French special forces unit, basically refused to shoot 38 SPL for training and kept breaking guns. So a French manufacturer ended up making one that would survive their training regiment. It's still in service today yet in a formal roll)
