Installed a metal M&P rear on the SD and gave it the same treatment I did the original. I built up the bottom of the notch with strips of grip tape until the front dot sits neatly on it as I prefer. Gave it some exercise with 3.8 grains IMR Target under an Arsenal 358-130-RF and she did awesome. I'm really growing to like the SD trigger with the spring kit. It's really smooth and can stage it pretty easily. I'm still amazed at how much this pistol likes lead boolits, she just eats 'em right up with good accuracy and minimal fouling. Come to think of it, I've never put a single factory round or anything jacketed through it.

The more I shoot it, the more I like the SD9. It really likes 3.2 grains IMR 700X under just about any lead bullet. 7 rounds with the Arsenal 358-130-RF at 10 yards not really even trying.

Score! Traded my Taurus G3C to a gentleman on Cast Boolits for a whole lot of goodies:

120 new primed .308 brass
180 new unprimed .308 brass
300 Remington .308 180 grain spitzer soft points
100 Remington .32 Auto 71 grain factory rounds
50 CCI .32 Auto 71 grain factory rounds
20 W-W .30-30 170 grain factory rounds
100 Remington .380 Auto 95 grain bullets
200 Remington .380 Auto new unprimed brass
50 .357 magnum used brass

Based on my local prices this would all be at least $400.00 retail. His asking prices for it totalled up around $260.00, about what the used Taurus with 4 mags and holster should go for. Looks like I need to buy another .308 rifle huh?

My neighbor works the gun counter at the local farm & home. He said they have seen a lot of the G3C’s come back. Broken springs and firing pins are the most prevalent issues. The G3’s don’t seem to have the same problems. He said it’s to the point that they’re considering dropping the C’s.
They’re looking at dropping the SCCY line as well. Lots of feed issues with those guns.

No, the G3C always did great. Thing is, they are common as dirt around here and reloading stuff is never going down in price.

They’re looking at dropping the SCCY line as well. Lots of feed issues with those guns.

Strange, we sell tons of Taurus autos and relatively few come back. To my knowledge, all of the returns were properly fixed by Taurus within a reasonable amount of time.

Sccy, yeah, not the best. They are a direct copy of the Kel-Tec P11 with different styling. The company's service is really good and they seem to actually care about their customers. Still, the gun badly needs some corrections and they haven't done it

I've had a sccy for going on 10 years. Never one issue with it. Trigger pull is pretty hard but I don't think that will matter in a self defense situation. It's my everyday carry gun.

I certainly understand about the reloading components. Reason I asked about the g3c is I just got one last fall and haven't had a chance to shoot it much yet.

Not all guns, with known issues in a given model, are necessarily bad.
I have a Para Ordnance P12 that’s the same. People complain about reliability with them. I’ve never had an issue with mine. I was fortunate, as were you with your SCCY.
It’s just something to be aware of when you go to buy a gun. If the model you’re considering Is more prone to function problems or parts failures, you need to be cognizant of that before you purchase.
