In the 2 years I've had it at least 800 rounds though it mostly reloads
And I loaned It my sister she really liked it
She put a couple hundred through it
but it does take some strength to rack the slide it's a flat recoil spring like the original glocks.
I got her a taurus g2c instead it's easier to rack she handles it fine.
no reliability issues on the arex at all and one of the most accurate striker fired pistols I've shot.
I'm like a budget pistol collector I have several taurus,gforce,tisas I've bought sub 250.00
I like the arex the best it has a very similar trigger to the taurus gx4
It's glock 19 sized but slimmer and more comfortable ergos
I have a glock 19 and 23 but prefer the arex I just shoot it far better for me.

Well....pulled the trigger tonight... 
Back story... the local rural king gun barn manager and i are now on a first name basis, since i have been checking in almost weekly for the last month or 2 for the $349 rock island 1911 a1... soon as they get em they are gone... well, stopped by on my lunch break for a tire tube patch kit, and stopped in to see what they they had, and again, no luck.... Lowell was in, and he was "like man i wish i could tell you when the next ones are gonna come in..."
Fast forward to 3pm... my boss calls me over to the shop door, and there stands Lowell with a poo eatin grin on his face... he says he literally just unboxed 1 of the rock islands 5 min before quittin time...
So i left work early and put down some money on that sucker ASAP!!!!!
Now thats what i call customer service.... Lowell is also the guy i got my Gforce gf9 rapture (glock 26 clone) from last fall, and he brought his mower in to the shop this spring to get worked on... so we have a bit of a rapport now...

I'm sure you already know this, but just thought I should remind you since you say the 10/22 now has a 4" barrel. A barrel under 16" on a rifle is less than legal unless registered as a short barrel rifle. So you might want to scrap that barrel asap.

So, I have a thing for .38 Special revolvers and have a whole bunch of them. In fact, I prefer the .38 Special only version even if the exact same gun can also be had in .357. I never shoot .357 in handguns, and my chronograph shows that .38 Special almost always loses velocity in a .357 chamber, probably due to more freebore and many .357 revolvers have huge forcing cones to help keep pressure down, which is basically more of the same. .38 Special revolvers tend to be a lot cheaper to buy also.
Probably my favorite .38 Special revolver is the heavy duty snubnose. Meaning stronger and with a bit more weight and size (and therefore easier to shoot with accuracy) than the typical flyweight 5 shooter such as a Smith J frame or Charter Undercover, but still compact enough to be easily carried. The old Colt Detective Special is probably the best known of the type, but that would also include the snubnose S&W K frame, Ruger SP-101 and Speed Six, and Taurus 856 and 605.
So the fun store gets in a new Ruger SP-101 .38 Special with 2.25" barrel. The SP is usually a pricey gun these days, over 7 bills, but it was stickered at $618.00; probably due to being "only" .38 and not .357. I ask to look at it, and discover that the trigger pull is way better than the craptastic one I had 20 years ago. So I decide to take the plunge and layaway it. The fun store owner is a real devil, and says if I put a big enough down payment on it then I can take the SP home today!
So I did, and took her for a quick test drive after work. I was relieved to find the SP is deadly accurate with the same loads that my Taurus 605 and 856 like, and makes neat golf ball size groups at 15 yards. Which is as good as I can do with any handgun under the sun. I look forward to many years with this new pocket pal!

At lunch today, I took the SP out for some more exercise. I have a "custom" Lee mold that drops a short nose 143 grain SWC, turns out this revolver really likes it with 3.5-3.6 grains of Clays. It also likes a 156 grain flat point leftover from another mold I no longer have, unfortunately that was the last of those boolits. Gonna try the Lee TL358-158-SWC with Clays and Titegroup in it next. This revolver, more than most other handguns, definitely shoots best with a firm grip. The factory smooth rubber grip with plastic insert, which I think Bill Ruger himself designed, is as good as it gets and I have no desire to change it.
A couple of things I notice about my SP. It has a true .38 Special chamber, .357's stop well short of chambering. It also has the same big funnel of a forcing cone that my Taurus 605 .357 has, so I guess the only real difference is the short chamber and .38 Special marking on the barrel. The barrel on my example is actually 2-3/8" rather than the 2.25" listed, which I like. This seems to be about the perfect barrel length for a snubnose unless absolute minimum size is required. Barrel to cylinder gap seems to be on the lower end. A .006 feeler gauge will slide in with difficulty if the chambers are empty, my other feeler gauge that goes down to .002 is somewhere else right now so that is the thinnest one I have. Also, Ruger now gives the SP a "carry melt" treatment from the factory. Most of the sharp edges and blocky contours are gone, and this revolver is pretty trim for being a heavy little chunk of stainless. One thing that irritated me about the SP I had years ago was that the trigger guard was the perfect shape and size to whack my knuckle with every shot, that is a total non-issue with this one.

The titanium tube extension is permanently attached, pinned and welded. It's pretty common. Wiland, tacom3 and others have their own version

I'm going to be pretty busy for the next while so I went ahead and tried my "Outdoorsman" load in the SP-101. 3.8 grains Titegroup under a 162 grain Lee 358-158-RF. It is a strong standard pressure load and kicks out around 820 fps in a 4" barrel, I figger about 750 in the 2-3/8" tube of the SP-101. This load is a handful (but not painful) in most pocket size revolvers but the SP handles it with aplomb and shoots to the sights at 15 yards.
