When I worked at Rule Kang, we always sold out of the Tisas 1911's very quickly. They are very nice guns, I thought they compared well to the lower end Springfields.
I sold my early Springfield loaded .45 I bought in 1996 and kept my tisas duty .45
The tisas is a world better fit and finished and far more accurate than the Brazilian springfields I shot were
I have no experience with the usa made Springfields they look extremely well made compared to the old ones.

Late model Springfields I've looked at seemed very nice. I'm not a 1911 expert or enthusiast though.

If I ever buy another 9mm pistol it's gonna be this one:

My dream pistol was always a Wayne Novak hi power or 1911 from him

The Novak .45 shop is only 40 minutes from my house in parkersburg wv
but as years go by and the quality of pistols and variety has drastically improved
Accuracy even in budget pistols amazes me I remember all the idpa guys I shot with spending big money on accuracy packages or barrels from custom shops.
Now for example the 300.00 arex deltas I have would've out shot pistols my friend's had a couple thousand in.
And big money didn't mean reliability in pistols back in the 90s then I saw idpa guys shooting custom hand built 1911s that wouldn't run and
ipsc guys shooting para ordnance double stack 1911s that simply wouldn't run at all.
The fbi hrt had a lot of issues with them also I read
Now you can pretty much get a reliable pistol from any manufacturer.

I'm into accuracy now IMG_20260327_183823014.jpg
I haven't owned a beretta since 1995 I had a 92fs 9mm and a 96fs .40
Nice pistols with great accuracy but I didn't like da pistols
And the frame mounted versions were scarce and very expensive
A couple of years ago Beretta introduced the 92xi their version of a 2011
A guy at the range let me try his beretta squalo and I was extremely impressed
IMG_20260327_154624017_HDR.jpg
I got one today they are 1200 at my local shop I got this for 700.00 on gundeals
And beretta has a 100.00 rebate going on
It's very tightly fit and butter smooth
About 3 1/2 pound crisp trigger.
I looked at all the 2011s and this fit my hand the best
The Apollo 2011 I bought is uncomfortable I'm still waiting on my prodigy grip module to arrive.

Kewl. If I used my Sig M11-A1 as a carry gun I would probably see about converting it to cocked and locked. As I understand it, most of the metal frame Sigs can be converted to DA/SA, DAO, DAK, or SAO with the right parts.

I prefer single action but my 1911s and CZ 75s we're getting too heavy to carry comfortably
So I went striker fired.

Ugh, good deals always find me when I'm trying to quit spending time and money on guns and reloading. Stopped in at the Pawn n' Go today to look around. I see they still have a nice used Glock 42 in stock with a higher than new price tag, it has been there for at least three years now. Once again they wouldn't accept my offer of $300.00 which is very reasonable for a used Glock 42. They did have a gen. 4 Glock 19 under the glass so I asked to look at it. Other than some dings on the bottom of the grip (which I can easily fix) it could pass for new old stock, didn't even have marks on the barrel from unlocking. I offered to layaway it for $350.00 total and they accepted! So I now have a nice Glock 19 on the way. And the 42 will still be there, waiting for them to decide to actually sell it.

Really like my tisas duty but it comes with cheap plastic grips
IMG_20260402_005601043.jpg
I found these g10 cool hand grips for 17.00
Come with screws and little 0 rings to keep them secure
Really feel good with solid texturing
These tisas used to be 350.00 with a cardboard box now they are 450.00+
With a plastic case
I've looked at dozens of them and all were very tightly fit and finished
This one I bought 5 years ago feels handfit
There's 0 play between slide/frame and barrel lockup
It had a decent trigger but ran about 6lbs
I pull the seat and bent the center leaf out to get it to dead on 4lbs
Accuracy has always been excellent and runs everything I tried.

Here's what I sold the tisas commander to buy
I've always read about the original marine meosoc pistols but I've never seen one in person
Love those tall original style sights.

What irritates me is that The 43, 43X, and 48 are the same gun with different grip and slide lengths like their other pistol models (i.e. Glock 17, 19, & 26) but you can't use a 48 mag in a 43. Its just a tiny bit too wide. Normally, Glock is really good about keeping things interchangeable across different sizes of the same models but they really fouled that up. Its the same as if my 26 couldn't use a mag from a 19 or 17, it removes one very compelling reason to own different sizes of the same essential gun.
