Agreed. If Remington started making them again, I think they'd sell a boat load.
Couldn't go wrong with either the Nylon 66 or the Ruger 10/22 back in the 70's. I had a couple of both many years ago and now down to one of each. The ol' Rem 552/572 .22 LR auto-loaders/pumps were well made too.

The Nylon 66 is nice because it weighs next to nothing.

The 552 and 572were great 22,s I had a 572 that was a shooter. I like the old 510/512 too.
