While I can not speak to the exact scenario here, I would say that if some minor difference is noted, it would not scare me from giving it a try, as I have been having a good string of luck with AM pistons (Golf included) in reclaimed cylinders, even though piston was a bit different than the OEM ones they replaced. So far the vast majority have boosted performance and not hindered it. Also I would add that I tried to "mock up" the squish scenario with OEM piston while waiting for AM one to arrive, this did not work as piston height was not always the same, learned to do squish with exact parts to be used. Whole P&C AM kits are another hit and miss story however. Would like to see what you find out here, not always fun taking a gamble, only is when you win. SS
Hopefully I`ll be able to get a bunch of pics of the whole ordeal when I get the parts in. I`ll post when it happens...

I got one for my 757 Shindaiwa. I think Dunlap's still shining on it..Pretty rough. Was cheap though.

The only engines I have ever had issues with pistons was some very high performance Pwc engines. I never cared for weiscos mainly because of the super loose setup tolerances trying to factor in the expansion rate. The weiscos wear faster too. Now cheap cast pistons have there place too. Have used a chit ton of the super cheap ebay specials golf little red barn hutzl farmertech espian and others. Never had a saw, weed woweed, blower, or generator come apart or fail. But I also don't run the cheap ones in high strung engines turning much past stock rpms. The hotter the build the more I push to run a good piston. I would run a cheap piston in any saw that the situation called for one without doubt. Deal with the issues that come up as they come up, like clearancing crank throws , pin boss clearance squish changes and what ever else the mfg decides to mess with and move on.
