I think that new calibration system sucks ,why couldn’t they make it work like the original
I give up!
Hopefully it's just the new coil/control unit which they came out with. Which I see no difference in. Timed cuts the same. It actually runs 200rpm slower. And you have the new retarded reset/calibration procedure where you hold the saw WOT for 30 sec.
You mean you have to piss rev it right off the bat when recalibrating it? Sounds like they ha e been listening to their piss reving customers.

This would just be the V3 Mtronic system installed in the latest 661 with all the updates. The flier is an attempt to relaunch the 661 after it developed such a poor wrap from users & industry pro's. Such a shame early 661's has problems and tainted Stihl's flagship saw as the latest 2018+ models seem to be great saws. Here in OZ OEM 660's in good condition are selling like hotcakes & fetching silly dollars. They should offer a standard carb model for those who for good reason refuse to purchase Mtronics.[/QUOTE]

I agree there should be a non mtronic version available.
I’m planning on buying a few parts and testing out a simple non mtronic conversion for the 661.
That was the plan, but without the non mtronic coil.just get the coil and wiring from Greece, use a 660 carb of your choice, no need to change the flywheel
