Got the late sweet corn patches cultivated yesterday. the big patch did not drown out as bad as the little one, they are starting to get there green color back after all the flooding. With a little luck I might make a few ears this year.
What are you cultivating with?

Not much, I have done many acres this year, the sunflowers, as in planting them three times. I gave up after the last of May, I do have a lot of sunflowers, but I do have a lot of weeds for this year! Some of the sunflowers are now starting to show there leaves. This is my worst year ever for corn and sunflowers.

What would make tomatoes turn black on the bottom? They are about 2 inchs round, still green and all turning black on bottom.

These are my grandpas.

Sounds like blossom end rot, Lack of calcium, You can spray them with blossom end rot spray.or put down lime for next year. You can get it at the local co-op. Aka, southern states. Not sure you can do that up there!!

Can't like that Charlie. Not at all.

We're getting ours in slowly. A few tomato plants drowned last week, so probably will have to do some re-planting. Hopefully the sun will come out and we can get things growing.

Damn Charlie, you can't catch a break.
This is the second year that you've been flooded.

Very true, I sprayed the whole damn patch with roundup, and replanted with the no-till planter. Plus another small patch. Hope to get a couple ears this year. Will try to to get pics. soon.

We just got 1.1 inch,s of rain, which will be good for the Millet that I just planted last Week. Plus the sweet corn. ( either dry or wet!)

Got some corn coming up, We had another flood which washed much of the corn out of the rows. Not as bad this time I hope! The no-till is coming up now. 101_0312.JPG 101_0311.JPG 101_0315.JPG
