So I put a carb kit in an old Echo for a guy. When I got it in the tank was just topped of and the guy said his dad had replaced the fuel lines recently. External line looked new so I had no reason to doubt him. Rebuilt and tuned the carb all was well. Then it started having high idle issues so I knew it was sucking air somewhere. Dumped the fuel and found this laying in the bottom of the tank ...sans fuel line.
So my conclusion is either the "fuel line" wasn't really fuel line or good ol ethanol is the culprit. Pretty sure the black goo on the outside of that filter is what's left of the line.
Thing is I almost never take someone's word for it when it comes to stuff like this. Saw was on its way home tomorrow now it's waiting on parts.....
