Had the day off so my EAB Ash tree came down. Planted about 18 yrs ago and at that time there was nothing bothering Ash so it seemed like a good yard shade tree choice. I put in a Fall Fiesta Maple.
Should give me a weeks worth of heat come winter.

Looks great nice cleanup and tree replacement.
Just watch the maple roots when it grows they seem to like to grow on top of ground. I have enough dead ash here to burn for two winters.
I'll keep watch on the roots. What can u do about it if they decide to grow high?

I’m not sure if you can do anything about but they do tend to grow close to the top of the ground. You should be ok. Just the way it is.
Will grow fast too. Maybe the fiesta maple is different than the maples we have here..I hope so.

Sugar maple also known as “hard maple” is a great choice in a yard. Long lived, strong wood and nice shade. “Soft maple” like red, norway or silver can be a problem when they get older. Grow fast, weak wood in storms and they tend to get hollow.
