Extreme high winds knocked out power here yesterday for several hours, as I had to run the house generator until about 4:30 yesterday evening. Several power poles and trees on lines in the Orange, Spoysy, Lake Anna, Locust Grove area. Also blew some of the flashing from under the siding of my old house this morning.

We had 70 mph winds last night. Lost part of the shingles on the ridge vent of the house and some minor damage to the gutter guards. I spent about four hours cutting trees off of the driveway to get out. Could have been much worse. On the up side, I have a lot to cut for firewood.
Here's the first tree I had to clear from the driveway.
I also have a couple of (60ft-70ft) hangers, close to the house, that are going to be interesting.

Been fairly windy here today but nothing compared to what some of you folks went through.

The neighbor up the hill lost most of the shingles on his house, part of his deck and the roof of his machine shed.
Last night was the the strongest straight line winds I've ever experienced.
