Bad as in unnecessary. I guess the only real problem is just an inconvenience of having to research 5 different options within 5CCs of each other to see which price and features you like.
Dan @AlfA01 Could you hit me with a PM on price? I've had one of these on the want list for a while...
Anyone (Alfa) find out what the 'NC' euro model has that the US sold models don't? Great little saws these, best echo saw on the market IMO.
Dan @AlfA01 if your able to source just the echo/sugi bar and 1/4 sprocket I'd be interested and appreciative.
The local Echo dealer had one, and it had 91PXL chain on it... Oregon’s .050 3/8... so many bar chain combos out there for this one!It's "Narrow Cut". 0.43 Sugi chain + Sugi carving bar. "Normal" TES C comes with 1/4 .050 Oregon chain.
The pxl is what mine came with. Currently the only "stock" set up available here in the states.The local Echo dealer had one, and it had 91PXL chain on it... Oregon’s .050 3/8... so many bar chain combos out there for this one!
Dan is going to help me get get my fingerprints on the Euro version with the stock Sugi bar. Awesome community here!
@AlfA01
Kinda cool that Echo's & Shindaiwa's sold here are factory fitted with Sugi's as the OEM bar. I suppose you could order the 1/4" cutch drum and worm gear the fit a 1/4" b/c for similar result. Setup of these saw make a huge difference in how they cut, when you get a well ground N/Kerf chain they cut well. But there are advantages to having a wider kerf too in some cases where pinching or stringy bark is an issue.
Wow the 500 series Echo look so much bigger once you get used to the 390's.
Notice in the pic I put up above that the 390 looks smaller than the 241. That's because it is.
