Well yesterday was the official start to mowing season for me.my scag has the tires that came on it when i bought it back in 2010.they were actually dry rotted when i bought the darn thing.just much worse now.last year i had to add a can of fix a flat to the left tire.well yesterday i had a super flat and guess what?yeap no tire plugs.didnt have time to go to town to get any and a trip to tractor supply for a tube and install was out of the question.so........20160326_130009.jpg20160326_131229.jpg

Let it dry a bit before installing.had to modify my install tool because it kept pulling the plug out.
It actually worked good but developed a leak around my valve stem.still wound up running to the beer store for a can of fix a flat.:cunaooooo:

Nice fix but it won't hold, been there .done that .The only fix for those cheapo tubeless tires is a tube which it should have had from the git-go .Would you believe, two year old ,$6000 Toro with about 55-60 hours and both rears are leaking .This year before it cuts a blade of grass it gets tubed .Mumble grumble ----

Nothing to do with mowers but tubeless tires .The 6 and 7,000 lb Dexter style axles and 14.5" tires used to move mobile homes are made for a one way trip. Real thin membrane and sooner or later they leak if used for trailer axles on home built machinery trailers etc .

Tube them up before you ever use them. You can put 80-90 PSI air in them and run them until the cords show and they'll never leak .Junk yard dawg tip of the day .

I think tubeless tires are great for passenger car tires. Anything else they are worhless as teats on a boar hog.

I seems every box of tools I buy has one or more of those tire repair tools in it.
