Elastostart home brew replacement

Anyone try and homebrew an Elastostart replacement. I tore one apart last night. Im not cheap I can order one, but just wondering if you tore one and wanted to try and replace it. I was thinking an alum ferrule crimped on. Cant tie a knot that small.

Elastostart, naa I like to put snowblower handles on. Easter to start with gloves on and you absorb the recoil with all 4 fingers as posed to just two.

The Stihl 460 rescue saw D-handle is a little nicer than those type . I think they are 8 or 9 dollars .The last I got I had to order,got four .
Seems I had a couple of bullheaded mule kickers that needed tamed down. Stihl 084,Stihl 038 Mag(souped ) and 2100 Husqvarna .The 084 broke a bone in my hand prior .I could predict the weather for about a year afterward.

I am not a big fan of the Elastostart. Too Squishy in my hand. But I do like those D-Handles. I have one on my 660.

On another forum we are discussing the possibility of adapting a spring in the D-handle .From what I see so far it wouldn't work on a 460 rescue saw D. It's for an an older gentleman(about my age ) who has difficulty rolling over his saw .Something you might not think about at 30 but if you're lucky and like me reach 70 it could become a problem .

Most comfortable D out there. No sharp edges to bite you like those others. I always took those ones off and replaced with these. $5.08 at most dealers.
