I finished the mods to my new to me CS-400 last night. Decatted and unclogged muffler, Tsumura 16" bar with semi-chisel, idle at 2850 and WOT at 11k. Look forward to putting it in the wood soon, the CS-400 and Husky 440 are two inexpensive saws that really wake up with a decent b/c and basic mods.

Sorry for the late update. The 6700 had a flywheel issue. Anyhow, prepping large 24-28" diameter spruce logs to be milled with the chainsaw mill I timed some cuts with the same exact chain. The chain was a freshly sharpened 3/8 EXL with 3 strokes off the rakers.

The echo cs 590 and the old cs 6700 are set up EXACTLY the same. Both have mufflers opened up, base gasket delete, timing advance and no port work. The 590 even got a walbro 86-578-1 fuel nozzle in the carb. Both are brand new saws, everything is new on the 6700. Both had a few tanks of fuel run through them to break-in.

The 6700 was 2 seconds faster in the 24" diameter cuts. It's a high-rever. The echo cs 590 was better at cutting down stumps. The 6700 would bog if u didn't baby it through the stump. New school 60 cc's does not equal old school 67 cc's. But honestly, I couldn't pick one over the other.

Awesome deal! I paid about that much for my CS-500P which is mechanically the same thing. Far as I know the CS-501P jug and other parts bolt right on.

Thanks man! It's my second CS4910 Ive also got the CS 490...same as your 500P but plastic handlebar. The 4910 is the same as the 501P except plastic handle bar and black recoil and clutch cover.
These 50cc Echos are great little saws. One of my favorites.

I picked up this Craftsman 2.7 just because I have 70cc version in the same colors. It was run maybe twice. It came with a really nice Oregon bar on it.

Thanks man! It's my second CS4910 Ive also got the CS 490...same as your 500P but plastic handlebar. The 4910 is the same as the 501P except plastic handle bar and black recoil and clutch cover.
These 50cc Echos are great little saws. One of my favorites.

Didn't know the 4910 was the economy 501, makes it an even better deal!

Craftsman sure had some good looking saws back in the day. My favorite are the grayish blue Poulan XXV's.

I like that color, too, but have never run across a nice one. I do have one in Craftsman’s yellow that looks good.

I was watching that one, glad to see it went into good hands, only reason I didn't bid was I already bought two saws I was after for a while now and I have a near new condition 452vl to keep me happy for awhile....lol.....These two saws pictured are not the ones I had just bought, the recent purchases were a Pro Mac 650 and an Echo 602vl. Just finished up the 650 and will be starting on the 602 in the very near future....

Thank you, I was surprised there wasn’t more bids. I was a bit reluctant because of the low amount of feedback for that seller. He turned out to be a real nice guy. Saw & bar were well packaged.
Nice looking 452vl & that 031 looks new.

There's actually several small differences....mostly grommets, washers, captured bar nuts... Interesting vid that compares part #s
