Well I ordered me up a 501P, with an 18 inch .325. Was wondering if anyone like logosol makes a floating rim sprocket for 3/8 picco chain, and does cannon make a 18 inch bar for this saw or i could modify a husky small butt, just needs to have picco tip.
I think this saw would be the ticket with 63ps stihl chain on in.

I don't know much about these saws, except I liked the one I got to run, let us know how it does for you, I think there are a few guys who might be interested in a 50cc carb saw yet out there.

Yep it comes with a 325 rim.

Small spline is for all the 50cc echos(490,500p,501p).I tried the 490 with lp chain and wasn't impressed.I switched to 16' .325 058 and i am happy with it.

I switched my 490 to 3/8 lp with Oregon 91VXL. For me, it became an entirely new saw. I love it.

I never liked low profile chain till i had a ms241 with 63ps picco. Way faster than any 325 including 23rs stihl and 20lp oregon.

I took an 18” A041 and shortened the tail. Now I can run same chain on my 400 and 490.

I have a mofo 026 And it is faster with the .325 with an 8 pin over the picco.

It was a Stihl chain but i am not sure if it was a ps or not.The .325 i am using now is the Stihl RM (semi chisel) but i have an Oregon 21lpx to try.Might be the different types of wood,i tested the lp chain on green softwood.

There's always .325 NK. I dig it kind of has the best of both.

Cutting speed isnt what all im after here. Other factors at play such as rotating mass, chain stretch, and how prone the chain is to grab small brush and throw it at my legs or face.
In my testing, it seemed that any 3/8 lowpro chain experences less stretch than .325 with its more moving parts with compaiable bar length. With lower profile cutters the lowpro chains are less likily to grab small stem brush and throw it at the operator.
And lastly, the rotating weight of the chain is were i seen the most difference with acceleration, when compairing it on saws below 50cc.

Curious to see how the 501p works out. Have been interested in them for a while. My 620p is just getting broken in and it's a sweet runner.
