I purchased a used echo cs310 with bad clutch, sprocket and bar studs. Replaced all and could not get it to oil. pulled everything off again and saw this. I forgot to take a picture prior but the worm gear was broken and stuck in the plastic housing. I tried removing as much of the charred...

Will replacing the worm gear potentially fix the oiler or is it too far gone to work again?

Bill

Doesn't look like it'll ever be 100% again. You may be able to clean it up and make it useable. Honestly I'd look for a donor saw and replace the melted housing. Since the clutch area got that hot the crank seal may have been compromised. But you have nothing to lose by removing the crispy parts and attempting to repair. The brake band is definitely toast. @Red97 or others may have more insight. I'm not real familiar with this model.
