And I understand that. But maybe it isn’t.Huskihi, I put the 91 in it because this gas is supposedly ethanol free.

Glad she's back to normal!Well, The results are in. I put exactly one gallon of 87 octane in a clean empty gas can. Added 3 ounces of Amsoil Saber, shook vigorously. Then emptied the mix from the saw the saw, refilled with the 87 octane. After running it a few minutes the results were very apparent. Instant throttle response. The saw now twists in your hands when throttle in applied. I mentioned this to a friend. He mentioned that the 91 octane sits in the tanks for extended periods of time at the station because many people do not want to pay the $3.38 per gallon. Anyway I am now a happy camper. Thanks for all the suggestions and useful comments, Ken
EggShooter. For as long as I am able to remember I have used regular unleaded and never had any performance issues. I put 91 octane in the 590 because that is what the owners manual stated. All my other saws and weed eater all have had the same brew using the 87 octane and I never had a problem. Some should find this an interesting read. FAQ 3, 4 and 5 relate to this discussion. In a nut shell, much more than octane rating effects power. In fact I believe someone tested fuels for cut speeds and VP94 small engine fuel was as fast as 87 pump, or close enough that it could easily have been a margin of error from the wood, operator ect. In my equipment I have seen no difference in performance from 90 E-free, 90, 94 and 95 canned fuels. Oils on the other hand have effected performance.

I've never had runnability issues with any fuel as long as it was fresh. 87 on up. I just didn't include 87 and 89 octane in my post as they are not available in E-free around me. They were years ago, before the corn gas bs started, but haven't been available for quite a long while now. Your situation is probably more the exception than the rule.EggShooter.
