I have a near-new PB500T that was straight gassed and left at the dump. A piston and cylinder kit is $165, and complete short block is $195....and I'm just too damn cheap to pop on either. Anyone have parts around so I could smack this baby together and make it a runner?

The cylinder has damage from the disassembly process unfortunately (it was a fairly violent process to get it separated). I have considered just slapping a new piston in it and dealing with lower than desired compression, but wanted to reach out here first.

Anyone? Bueller?

TIA!

No help on the parts here.
I wish there was an aftermarket supplier of a few of the top ends for a few of the models.

Just a thought on the carburetor though.
Seems like those blowers were set a bit on the lean side like some of their saws.
The fun part here is those tiny adjustment screws in the side of the carb.
I think that someone found the tool at one time, Not sure if it's readily available though.
There were a 2 or 3threads about the pb-500 over on arboristsite.
arboristsite made some sort of changes to their site recently and the site doesn't work right for my browser any more, so I'm no help for finding the links now.
