Picked up up another 590 from a guy moving to a condo. All he ever ran in it was Echo Red Armor premix and he gave me the gallon can that was still half full so I kinda eliminated bad full. Took it out today to cut and it seemed really rich. Kept turning the H until it sounded descent, my hearing does suck, but the H was seated. Checked it tonight with the tach and with the H seated it’s at 12,100. I’ll have to put it in wood again to see how it cuts but seems weird that 12,100 is WOT with no load. Any insights? Yes the limiters are removed.

I think the 590 and 620 are known for having too large of a main jet in the carburetor and don’t like to lean out enough
Kev, this is for sure the case on the 590. Is the 620 in the same boat?

You could try replacing the jet with one like out of a 199 or just cover the hole in the top of the jet with JB Weld to make it fully adjustable, both ways work.

well i ordered the venturi and installed it, not particularly fond of the jb weld in a fuel system, got it
tuned up and it cuts well, before the change it seemed to use more fuel than i expected, thanks to all.

the chain oiler was set excessive so am turning it down slowly and watching.
