Thanks Matt
@Dookie...rrr @Duke Thieroff

I think Chris had a good 394 jug, so no conversion kit needed. the jug that was ..uh...modded:confused: ....appears to be an AM 395 jug.

not sure I would have put a good 394 jug on that saw lol... them things are getting more rare

You know, I was only joking that time when I said you could use a chunk of JB Weld as a carburetor...

I was looking for someone to blame....

I think that's pretty awesome, actually. The sheer amount of planning and effort that went into such a crappy repair is quite impressive in my book.
Honestly, you gotta give the guy credit. Rather ingenious and a solid attempt for someone that may not have had the understanding of the 395 swap.

If Dookie wouldn't have run out of JB Weld he could have put a reed box on there. Lol
Don't give me any ideas....

So it doesn’t seal? Are the other ports hacked?
Never vac tested.....the loose wobble of the block against the intake clued me in

Thanks Matt

There it is...didn't look like there's a husky part number for it, just a pieced together kit....

@Mattyo can you share any insight on that?

Well, the saw is sentimental for this gent and I had a jug laying around. Really a pleasant guy to deal with so the nice 394 jug became an option that he wanted to explore.

Switching to a 395 would have cost him more, anyways....

Oh....one thing I like to do on the 394s is re route that kill wire. They always get kinked under that gray idle screw guide piece. I reroute it through that hole there and up under the carb box....drill a hole in the carb box ...there is a knockout for it anyways lol.

As far as insight on the kit..I dont have any special knowledge there. Maybe Joe ? @Onan18

I've never used the conversion kit for the same reason you didn't. Its pricey. Plus the carb box is best to be changed as well.

Saw noob here but I gotta say, the tools in the metal shop that I actually earn money with sometimes end up looking pretty tragic.
