Anyone have a 7900 coil or 2 kicking around? I will probably just use 272 coils but I figured I would ask first. My 2 go to saws went down this week with bad coils what a crap shoot lol

I have several I took off to unlimit my saws using the 272 method. Is your saw the Dolmar 7900(which I have like coils) or 7900 Makita that has a different flywheel/coil combo, like the 7910 Dolmar? Check the part number on the coil to make sure they match up.

They are actually 6400 - 7900 but I have not noticed a difference in the coils just the limiter. What is the difference in the flywheels?

I believe the magnet is positioned slightly offset between the two flywheels, hence the need to "pair up" coils to the correct flywheel.

I could be wrong though.

I ended up just doing the 272 coils I thought I had 2 bad coils one was my own fault when I was grinding it I jacked up the kill switch wire and the other one ended up being a bad kill switch
