I opened the top cover up a bit, seemed like a restrictive point. Added some more holes inside and opened the slats more. I also smoothed inside the intake horn casting. Can’t hurt and it was a free mod. I’ll post more pics of mods I did to the saw of when I put it together later. My internet is a little slow now.

I did something like that.

Current AF cover style with screen, the one without the screen is the old/original style

Need better test wood, this is the best I could do for now with this small piece of box elder. Still a touch fat for break in. View attachment 139447
9 pin seems a bit too much to me. Maybe try 8 pin?
I cut decent sized Box Elder a couple years back. Hard stuff.

Lol... actually Jeff it ran a 9 pin just fine. I was pushing pretty good the last cut. I wouldn’t run it for work with a 9, fine for play... but it needs at least a 8 for a 20” bar working imho.

Thats what I thought. From my perspective here just looked like maybe an 8 pin would keep the saw a bit higher in the RPM power band and cut faster? I could see you leaning on it a bit. Maybe better off not leaning on the 9 pin and let the chain speed work to your advantage????

Just wanted to show the torque this thing has with the small wood I had available

You need to lean that thing out. Sounded way way rich
Yup she was 13k, only 2nd tank since I built it so left it fat. Before the build it was liking tuned right on the limiter, so I’ll try that after it finishes the second tank.
