Felt filter or black nylon mesh?I cleaned my elbow and all. Greased around the filter and ran 3/4 a tank thru it then pulled the filter again. Fines all in the elbow already.
I have all 3 standard filters.Felt filter or black nylon mesh?
If black nylon mesh change to white nylon mesh.
Or, stop making cookies in bone dry square wood.
I have two of mine set up with felt, and with white nylon mesh filters - never felt inferior to me.
Early one for you Mason......I was blowing off the 7900 the other day with air and a foam piece fell off the tank. Got to looking and it was the tank vent breather puck. The foam had deteriorated from age and broke around the retainer. I installed another one today and noticed they changed the design on newer setup. It no longer worked with the older style tank. The puck was too large and a solid fiberglass like material. The ipl does not show the older style for whatever reason. I decided to carefully take a dremel and remove material from outside diameter to just enough to push in snugly as they had intended. Should work great for others with older saws that need a new vent.View attachment 137360 View attachment 137362 View attachment 137361 The white puck piece (#6 in ipl) that’s fitted in the tank is the one I ground on. There is a duck bill valve behind it. Don’t grind on that or the tank itself.
No matter how sharp you chains are if your cutting red oak and hickey that are dry you are gonna get fines periodNever had a fine issue with the 7900.....but I like to keep my chains nice and coasty sharp
Felt filter . Not a cookie guy bud just cutting firewood. Shouldn't matter anyways the saw shouldn't be passing finesFelt filter or black nylon mesh?

I'm gonna end up putting that setup on here. If your cutting green wood there's no worries but dry hardwoods send dust outBest advice is go to the HD filter setup, plus it looks awesome.lol
Good lord lol
Are those finding there way past the filter?
