The oiler don’t seem too shabby on these saws either with a 24” bar in dry hardwood. Not quite as good as a 385/390xp, but certainly better than the 1128 stihls ive ran.

I agree but from what I've read 28" in hardwoods is about all you want to run alot. Seems to oil a 28" well.

A wibbly wobbly 372 with more grunt.
Didn’t seem overly wobbly to me honestly. The newer 7910 have a better cylinder av limiter I might swap onto mine. I’ll probably just use it till it pops, then change it as I’m not too rough on saws.

Nope. And the AV is pretty darn good. My 2171 will hop all over the place at idle on the ground. The 79xx is low vibe and very stable, IMO.

Edit: That AV limiter is like $6-$7 when I got mine like a year ago. I think I have an extra if someone needs it.

Mine is definitely jiggered then. Ive had all the avs off and they all looked good but even out of the wood and resting the bar on a stump you can crank it (without much pressure) and get it to just have plastic on plastic contact somewhere between the tank and crankcase. The clamp round the handle also has play in it. Not sure if it is missing a rubber shim or something between the handle and the clamp.

Mine oils a 28” ok. Nothing stellar. I couldn’t see mine oiling much more. I’ve seen many posts about some oiling much long bars, but not mine.

Yeah but I've as seen guys who say their 1128 stihls oil a 32 with no mod. I would never try.

In my experience the 046 was starting to tighten the chain a bit much on a 28” buried in maple. Looked dry on the drivers. If I kept it longer I would have put the HO oiler on it.

Yeap. 25" on my hybrid without a mod is all I feel is ok

Your not thinking very positive.

Why would it pop? Lol
A properly maintained saw shouldn't pop. Lol
