That's a skip sprocket keeps the rpm of the saw up by only driving half the time lol

I once serviced a saw that had its sprocket cut completely in half. Imagine what that saw (and the one shown here) sounded like during the last tank of fuel. Gasp!

I think that is for full skip chain!

I had one this winter that was completely cut in half, some people just cut till the chain quits turning. Avg guy knows how to change the bar and chain but a lot of them never even look at the sprocket.
