To begin with hello opeforum! Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. Sort of stumbled across this place a little while ago and am glad I did. Very nice community from what I have seen. New to the world of modified saws but, what I have seen from the members wows me.

A quick question on different cylinders that Husqvarna placed on their 272 model. From what I have seen thus far an A and B came from the factory, any insight. Thank you very much.

Also any thoughts into any mods that the saw might benefit from! Thanks immensely

The a and b cylinders have very slightly different bores. The piston is also.stamped so it is used in coordination with the correct cylinder to give you the proper tolerances.

Many aftermarket or replacement pistons are marked ab to be used in either.

The difference between A/B cylinders is .0004".

Some say it doesn't matter. Some say that the slightly bigger B piston will be a better fit in the slightly enlarged used and worn bore.

I still go with the correct piston.

I like a B in a used A cylinder, have many and never scored one yet, they get beat hard to.

Yuppies turned the Tannery into the Mannery. Haven't been there in 20 years. It's not a bar anymore. It's something else now

Anyone know much about a two piece cylinder? Or where one could go to learn more about the mechanics, what to consider in their construction

I thought I remembered some video do not remember if any threads talk of the ins and outs. thank you much
