Looking at a couple of sites, they show that the Denso match for a BPMR8Y will be the W24MPR-U.

I use BPM8Y on almost all Echo's. The R's are specified as Canadian, I suppose because of radio interference laws, but some of the trimmers don't run as well on resistors as non-resistors.

Thanks. I wondered why some manuals listed the resistor plug, others listed the plain BPM8Y. Is there a Denso match for the BPM8Y?

Thanks. That's what I had found also. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that I'll still get genuine NGK plugs when I order them. They've done well so far, but the apparent widespread counterfeiting concerns me.

NGK for me, have yet to encounter one to fail on me.

Champion, Bosch & off-brand plugs that come with saw purchases get replaced with new NGK plugs irregardless whether the plugs work or not.

It was just a joke referencing the government going with the lowest price/quality product when purchasing something. Why buy one, when you can get two for twice the price!!
