I ran a successful thread on my D110 Tractor/mower not starting. All symptoms point to failed ACR.
Given the age of the D110 B&S engine, my mechanic suggested we consider a new engine.
Turns out Briggs&Stratton engines do not ship to California.
So, we're back to replacing the Crankshaft.

However, I'm curious if anyone knows of a California compatible engine that would bolt onto the D110?
Do they sell new D110s in CA? I'll check the nearest dealer.

In the meantime, since this is such a good, responsive forum, it will be interesting to hear the experience and recommendations of others.

Personally I'd only consider Briggs vanguard or Kohler commands. How far to the closet boarder?

seeing how comyfornia is anti petrol powered anything likely won't have much luck. the problem with JD stuff is the eng, is built to their spec. although mounting and shaft dia are usually the same industry wide but the length might change or have a machined step in it for the tranny sheave and the mower sheave.. Kohler eng might be an option but they were sold to a conglomerate a while back and the name is changing.

The shaft should be 1"x3-5/32". Kohler got bought by reihko or something I believe. The commands are still good engines though as are anything vanguard.

yes that is the name(spelling?) supposedly nothing is going to change ( how many times have we heard that before). Kohler family sold the small engine/ generator side of the company to concentrate on there bath and plumbing areas.

Not sure if that's the correct spelling
