View attachment 46824 Gonna try to make a homemade adapter for the plug hole using an old plug so I can press /vac test easier.

This is where I'm at. I found the nipple in muh tool box.

Am I on the right track?

You can use your compression tester adapter for that, just take the schrader valve out.


I made the plug adapter with a copper tubing epoxied in. I'll get a picture later.

A lathe is not a requirement to cut the rolled portion off the sparkplug. I have made an even dozen of these and just use a cut off disc/blade in a mini grinder, trick is to just cut through the metal all the way around the plug base about 1/8" down from the top . The porcelain will just slip out of the base when the rolled portion is removed. Soldering the brass hose barb has worked best for me, the old plug base needs to be thoroughly clean for the solder to adhere.

Maybe it won't cut and paste .I took it from CS repair because I lost it due to hacker that Win 10 had to reboot to a prior known good condition . Long story ---I'll reload from my camera later this afternoon .Win 10 screws me up after going from Win 8 and prior Win Xp pro .Then there was Win Me,3.0 ,2000 and the list goes on .I have to relearn it every time they get a notion to change it .Mumble grumble

I bought that barbed fitting for $1.79.
They didn't have any brass.

I knocked the porcelain out of a plug then stuck a 3/16 brake line with the end flared up through it. I used an oatey fix it stick to seal it.

One other tip...
Get rid of the crush washer and find a rubber o ring that fits your NEW fitting.
I found the crush washer leaking a few times,but with an o ring it usually doesn't leak hand tight.
